2011-2012

In January we brought the Barricade company to Cardiff and did two weeks of R&D led by Orit and Mish followed by an intensive design sessions to develop the set and Orit worked on narrative development with our dramaturge consultant Nick Walker

In May we headed to France. The creation took place in Atelier 231 in Sotteville Les Rouen where we spent two weeks building the set and adapting the vehicles and then two weeks working with the cast to develop the framework for the performance. We then had one more week of rehearsal in Bethune where we also worked with the local community and members of the circus school from Amiens to integrate them into the premier performance.

Labyrinth was our first co-production with the Eden Project. It was a site-specific show set within the landscape and forgotten corners to celebrate their 10th birthday. We held the 25th Birthday in John Street - and marketing officer (at the time) Rhys Fowler, with Toby Philpott, made up a set of annual boards to decorate the walls.

They also put up all the raw material they had around the walls of the meeting room (see video) in a rough timeline, which was the beginnings of the archive collection.

The London Mime Festival

Bianco was our second co-production with The Eden Project and the beginning of the Bianco project. It was different from Labyrinth as it was less site wide and more contained in one place. It provided the opportunity for all the research and development for what was to become Bianco in the Big Top the following year.
